Tokyo, Sept. 1 (Jiji Press)–Japan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 2.9 pct for July, up 0.1 percentage point from the previous month, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said Tuesday.

The number of jobless people increased by 20,000 from the previous month to 1.96 million after seasonal adjustment, according to the ministry.

Separately, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said the ratio of job openings to job seekers stood at 1.08 for July, down 0.03 point from the previous month.
