The Okinawa Times has published a book titled, “Okinawa kichi hakusho – Beigun to tonariau hibi [White paper on Okinawa bases – Living next door to the U.S. military]” (Koubunken Co., Ltd.). Unlike the government’s defense white paper and diplomatic blue book, the new book looks at the situation surrounding U.S. bases through the eyes of residents. The book is 1,870 yen, including tax, and is available at bookstores. (Abridged)
