The U.S. Marine Corps in Okinawa announced on Sept. 9 that it will relax starting on Sept. 10 some of the restrictions that were imposed as COVID-19 countermeasures. The health protection condition, which is currently set at the second highest level of “Charlie,” will be lowered to “Bravo.”
Off-base activities will be permitted on the condition that social distancing is maintained. Service members will be allowed to use hotels and travel by ferry or airplane. Dining in restaurants’ outside seating areas will also be permitted.
All activities in Naha remain prohibited. (Abridged)
