NHK reported that the Tokyo government convened a monitoring committee meeting today, saying that experts kept the COVID-19 alert at the second highest level, calling for caution against a resurgence. They expressed concern that the number of new cases will surge in the days ahead because the percentage of patients whose routes of infection are unclear is increasing for the first time in about a month. In addition, the experts pointed out at the meeting that measures to avoid the “Three Cs” must be thoroughly enforced as the number of people infected with the virus as a result of dining out rose from 41 from the previous week to 67. The experts also reportedly kept their evaluation of the medical care system at the second highest level, meaning that it needs to be reinforced.
