On Sept. 20, the Kadena police arrested a 31-year-old U.S. Army sergeant stationed at Torii Station on the charge of violating the Road Traffic Act (driving under the influence of alcohol). The suspect denies the charge, saying, “I was drinking juice.”
The allegation is that the suspect was driving a vehicle on a street in Yomitan Village with a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit (0.15 mg per liter) at around 0:01 a.m. on Sept. 20.
