The Financial Services Agency (FSA) announced on Oct. 13 that it will conduct cybersecurity exercises for 110 financial institutions. In light of the instances of the theft of money through cashless payment services provided by NTT Docomo and others, participants will check their computer systems and the systems and procedures of customer services on the assumption that they have fallen victim to cyberattacks.

Banks, cashless payment service providers, and security firms will join the exercises for six days starting on Oct. 14. The FSA will prepare cyberattack scenarios for each business category. It will be the fifth time for the FSA to conduct cybersecurity exercises. (Abridged)
