Bach suggests Tokyo Games with limited spectators

Seoul, Oct. 28 (Jiji Press)–International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach has suggested that the postponed Tokyo Games may not be held with full spectator capacity due to the coronavirus pandemic, South Korean media reported Wednesday.

In an interview with the SBS television network, Bach suggested that measures against infection for athletes and spectators at the venues will need to be in place.

Bach said that the IOC is making the utmost efforts going into the July 23, 2021, opening ceremony. He flatly rejected suggestions that the Tokyo Games will be called off.
