Kin of Japanese abductees pin hopes on Biden’s help in resolving abduction issue

All national dailies reported on the reaction of the families of Japanese nationals abducted by North Korea to former Vice President Biden’s projected victory in the U.S. presidential election. They expressed hope that he will work with Japan to resolve the abduction issue as his predecessors have done. The families said President Trump applied pressure on DPRK leader Kim Jong Un through direct talks and encouraged them to continue their efforts to realize the return of their loved ones and that the United States’ cooperation is indispensable in resolving the issue.
