BEIJING – Japan and China aim to fully revive their economies by restarting reciprocal business travel, which has been suspended due to the new coronavirus pandemic. But the two countries are taking different approaches to border control measures. (Abridged)

– Take both PCR and antibody tests before leaving Japan.

– Register with an infection-prevention app on their smartphone.

– Take a PCR test upon entering China.

– Quarantine for 14 days if they will be in China for a medium- to long-term stay.

– Take only a PCR test before leaving China.

– Not use public transportation for 14 days after entering Japan.
