Two Chinese patrol vessels enter Japan’s territorial waters

NHK reported that according to the 11th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, two of the four Chinese patrol ships that were sailing in the contiguous waters near the Senkaku Islands entered Japan’s territorial waters and approached Japanese fishing boats at about 3 a.m. today. The network said that as of 9 a.m., the two vessels remained in the territorial waters, adding that the Japanese Coast Guard has deployed patrol ships around the fishing boats and is also warning the Chinese vessels to immediately exit the territorial waters. The network said this is the 23rd time for the Chinese government ships to enter Japan’s territorial waters near the Senkakus this year.
