The Japan-Korea Parliamentarians’ Association (chair: Fukushiro Nukaga) held a meeting of its senior members at the National Diet building on Dec. 23 and confirmed that the supra-partisan group will hold a joint seminar with its South Korean counterpart, South Korea-Japan Parliamentarians’ Association, in Tokyo on Jan. 13, 2021. The two groups hope to further coordinate their actions to help improve bilateral relations, which have been strained over the issue of the wartime requisitioned laborers. The South Korean association members visited Japan in November and proposed holding a seminar at the time of the New Year ‘s celebration of the Korean Residents Union in Japan (Mindan).
