Tokyo, Jan. 12 (Jiji Press)–Japan’s Financial Services Agency opened on Tuesday an office to offer online one-stop services for foreign asset management and other firms in English, with the aim of realizing the government’s goal of creating an international financial hub in the nation.

The Financial Market Entry Office will offer registration and approval procedures for financial services, as well as related consultations.

“We aim to create a financial center open to the world,” financial services minister Taro Aso told a press conference on the day, stressing the government’s hope to lure foreign investment funds through the new office.

The office, staffed with about 10 workers, will provide its services to foreign companies offering asset management and other related services that are planning to enter the Japanese market.
