[Note: “The Party that Teaches How to Not Pay the NHK License Fee (NHK Jushinryo wo Shiharawanai Hoho wo Oshieru To)” was referred to in the previous poll as “Party to Protect the People from NHK (NHK kara Kokumin wo Mamoru To).”]

Polling methodology: The survey was conducted on Feb. 13–14, 2021, on a computer-aided random digit dialing (RDD) basis targeting voters nationwide with telephone calls placed by pollsters to landline and mobile phone numbers. Valid responses were received from a total of 1,597 persons, including 647 persons (out of 1,208 households found to have one or more eligible voters) for landline numbers and 950 persons (out of the 2,001 persons found to be eligible voters) for mobile numbers. The valid response rates were 54% for landline numbers and 47% for mobile numbers. [In light of the spread of mobile phones, the Asahi Shimbun has changed the ratio of the target number of landline to mobile phone responses from 5:5 to 4:6, starting from the Sept. 16–17, 2020, poll.]
