Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has informally decided to appoint as its corporate advisor Takaya Imai (62 years old), who served as executive secretary and special advisor to former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, it has been learned. Imai hailed from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and oversaw policymaking for the Abe government. At present, he is serving as a special advisor to the Cabinet.
It remains unknown when Imai will assume the post. The firm declined to “comment on personnel matters concerning individuals.” (Abridged)
