NTV reported at noon that while the GOJ plans to distribute COVID-19 vaccines for people aged 65 and older from the week of April 26, it learned from its own survey of municipalities in Tokyo and five ordinance-designated cities that only 58.7% of them can begin vaccinating the elderly at the end of April. In addition, 37% reportedly said they are not sure whether they would be able to begin in April and two municipalities said it would be difficult as it remains unclear when and how much of the vaccine will actually be delivered.
