The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is considering giving up its plan of submitting to the current Diet session a bill to revise the Trade Insurance and Investment Act, Nikkei learned. The bill was aimed at expanding the scope of operations of Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI), in which the government has a 100% stake. The organization disclosed that it made investments in a way that does not comply with investment methods designated by ministerial ordinances. This disclosure may have led it to forgo submission of the bill.
