LOS ANGELES — Japan House, a center for Japanese culture in Los Angeles, led an online event to remember the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
David Ono, a Japanese American news anchor who says he has traveled to the areas affected by the 3/11 disaster on multiple work assignments, said: “The recovery of the affected areas shows Japan’s wisdom. The earthquake might have caused greater damage if it had occurred in another country.”
Former U.S. Ambassadors to Japan John Roos and Caroline Kennedy also attended another online event and prayed silently for the victims of the disaster.
