North Korea launches what appears to be ballistic missile

NHK reported as breaking news on the GOJ announcement this morning that North Korea launched what appeared to be a ballistic missile earlier today. The Japan Coast Guard reportedly announced at 7:09 a.m. that what appeared to be a ballistic missile had been fired from North Korea and alerted ships operating in the area. According to an MOD source, North Korea fired a projectile that appeared to be a ballistic missile at around 7:06 a.m. and the projectile is believed to have landed outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone. This was reportedly the first ballistic missile launch by North Korea since March 29, 2020.
