Okinawa Times wrote that on the 25th anniversary on April 12 of the U.S.-Japan agreement to return the Futenma Air Station to Japan, Defense Minister Kishi told reporters on Tuesday that it is necessary to steadily move forward with the FRF construction at Henoko and realize the complete return of the Futenma base as soon as possible to remove the danger at the facility. Kishi reportedly said that the base should not remain in its current location permanently, adding that this is the shared view of the central government and Okinawa.
