The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will support developing and emerging countries in the Asia-Pacific region in creating space-related legislation. In cooperation with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), MOFA will convey the Japanese government’s expertise in drafting legislation. Through this, Japan aims to lead the creation of global rules for outer space.

In fiscal 2021, Japan will hold a symposium on drafting space legislation and invite countries to attend. The gathering will feature presentations on Japan’s efforts delivered by government officials in charge of outer space policy and other experts.
