Tokyo, May 7 (Jiji Press)–Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and his Polish counterpart, Zbigniew Rau, signed in Poland on Friday Japan time an action plan on economic and security cooperation between the two countries.
The action plan for a strategic partnership covers steps to be taken between 2021 to 2025.
During their talks, Motegi and Rau also agreed to strengthen their countries’ cooperation in tackling climate change and in the energy field.
Rau called for active involvement by Japan in the Three Seas initiative advocated by Poland.
Under the initiative, the European country aims to develop infrastructure, such as transportation and communications networks, in the Baltic, the Black and the Adriatic seas.
Motegi said that Japan will consider how it should be involved in the initiative.
