TBS reported at noon that the MHLW is making final arrangements to disclose on the Internet the names of people who violate Japan’s coronavirus quarantine rules. The network said the rules require all arrivals from foreign countries to self-quarantine for 14 days upon entry and sign a document pledging to report their whereabouts and condition every day during that period via a smartphone app or other means. According to the network, about 100 people per day have failed to do so. The network added that for “malicious” cases, including people who do not report their whereabouts for several days, the ministry is planning to publish the names on the websites of the MHLW and the Justice Ministry.
