Polling methodology: The survey was conducted on May 21–23 in Japan and on May 21–22 in South Korea on a computer-aided random digit dialing (RDD) basis with calls placed to landline and mobile phone numbers.

Japan: The survey was conducted of those aged 18 or over. Responses were received from a total of 1,063 persons, including 407 persons (out of 716 households) for landline numbers and 656 persons (out of 1,727 persons who answered the phone) for mobile numbers. The valid response rates were 57% for landline numbers and 38% for mobile numbers.

South Korea: The survey was conducted of those aged 18 or over. Valid responses were received from a total of 1,000 people, including 104 people by landline numbers and 896 people contacted by mobile numbers.

Figures are rounded off. In some graphs and charts, the total percentage may not add up to 100%.

“0” indicates that the figure was below 0.5%, and “–” denotes that no respondents gave that answer.
