Two U.S. military Ospreys make emergency landings at Yamagata Airport

Nikkei wrote that Defense Minister Kishi told reporters on Tuesday that two U.S. military Ospreys belonging to Yokota AB made emergency landings at Yamagata Airport on Monday. Kishi reported that he has been informed that the aircraft made precautionary landings out of concern for a mechanical problem. He added that the GOJ will call on the U.S. side to ensure safe operations. Chief Cabinet Secretary Kato separately told reporters that the landings did not interrupt commercial flights at the airport.
