On June 16, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) announced that its personnel’s personal information was leaked due to unauthorized access to Fujitsu information sharing software. The MIC received a report regarding the issue from Fujitsu on June 16. No damage from the misuse of leaked information has been confirmed.
Evidence of a data download from the outside was confirmed. The model of the information system equipment as well as the names, telephone numbers, and email addresses of concerned personnel may have been leaked. Other information, such as the names of relevant personnel at equipment manufacturers, may also have been leaked.
