Tokyo, June 23 (Jiji Press)–The Japanese government plans to name Hideyuki Kaide, director-general of the Reconstruction Agency, as vice minister at the agency, informed sources told Jiji Press on Wednesday.
The appointment will take effect after being approved by the cabinet soon, the sources said. Kaide, 58, will succeed Fumihiko Yuki.
The government plans to keep Vice Internal Affairs and Communications Minister Buichiro Kuroda in the post for the time being, the sources said.
Kaide entered the former Home Affairs Ministry, now the Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry, in 1986. He served in such posts as councillor at the Cabinet Secretariat before becoming Reconstruction Agency director-general in July 2020.
