The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will offer a total of 10 billion yen to Kioxia and Yokohama-based Socionext to develop semiconductors for the post-5G era, which will require higher performance high-speed wireless communication networks. The ministry will support the development of large-capacity semiconductor memory, which can store an enormous amount of data collected from factory censors and the like. (Abridged)
