Major Japanese firms to launch forum on economic security

Sankei wrote on Saturday that about 30 major companies belonging to Keidanren plan to establish a forum for discussions on economic security in order to share expertise on protecting advanced technology and train staff to handle sensitive information and data with national security implications. The first meeting will be held on July 8, with former National Security Secretariat Secretary General Yachi delivering the keynote speech. The forum will be headed by former Keidanren Chairman Sakakibara.
