Nakagusuku Village approves resolution to protest TFOA incident

NAKAGUSUKU – On Aug. 16, the Nakagusuku Village Council (chair: Arakaki Hiromasa) held an extraordinary meeting in response to an incident in which a panel and other parts fell off an MV-22 Osprey vertical take-off and landing transport aircraft deployed at the U.S. military’s Futenma airfield, and unanimously approved a resolution and a letter of opinion to protest this TFOA (things falling off aircraft) incident. The council called for the suspension of Osprey flights and the immediate closure and removal of the airfield.


The resolution is addressed to the U.S. Ambassador to Japan, commander of U.S. Forces Japan, and others. (Abridged)
