METI to allocate 119.5 billion yen for offshore wind power

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) plans to allocate up to 119.5 billion yen for projects to reduce the cost of offshore wind power generation. The allocation will be made from the 2-billion yen fund to support the development and expansion of decarbonization technologies. A maximum of 49.8 billion yen will be allocated for the next-generation solar power generation equipment that can be mounted on the walls of buildings. A call for operators will begin shortly.
