NHK reported this morning that the MHLW has decided to administer third doses of COVID-19 vaccines at least eight months after people have received their second shots. The network said the MHLW has decided to administer third doses of the Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca vaccines, which are approved in Japan, and will propose the plan to its advisory panel today. The network added that the ministry will examine when to begin administering third doses and whether to provide them to everyone or only those who are at high risk of becoming seriously ill.
