Major electronics companies will jointly gather information about human rights violations at their partner companies. Ten or so companies will start by setting up an online contact center as early as the spring of 2022 to receive information about forced labor and harassment. Fujitsu and Toshiba are considering joining the plan. The international attention on China’s human rights violations in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and other places is forcing companies to address risks to human rights in their supply chains.
