Gov’t provides 7.9 billion yen in political subsidies

On Oct. 20, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications provided a total of 7.943 billion yen in subsidies to eight political parties. The Japanese Communist Party did not apply for the subsidy. This was the third tranche of the government’s [quarterly] disbursements of political subsidies for fiscal 2021. The subsidies provided to the political parties were as follows (numbers rounded down to the nearest million yen):
