NHK reported this morning that the Health Ministry is making arrangements to allow COVID-19 booster vaccine doses to be administered to people who received their second shots at least six months earlier instead of eight months as initially planned in view of reports from overseas suggesting that vaccine effectiveness started to decline after six months. The ministry is reportedly planning to present the new proposal at its advisory panel of experts on Monday.
