Tokyo, Nov. 17 (Jiji Press)–Trade ministers from Japan, the United States and the European Union aim to hold a meeting by the end of the year, they said in a statement released Wednesday.

The ministers expect to discuss ways to correct unfair policy measures that distort the market, with China in mind.

According to the statement, the three-way meeting will likely be held on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting of the World Trade Organization, set to kick off late this month in Geneva, Switzerland.

From Japan, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Koichi Hagiuda is expected to take part in the trilateral meeting.

Meetings of trade ministers from Japan, the United States and EU started in 2017. The last one took place in January 2020.
