Nippon Ishin to receive 100 million more in gov’t subsidies in 2021

On Nov. 30, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) announced the amount of subsidies each political party will receive in 2021. The ministry has revised the initial amount determined in April based on the results of the October Lower House election. Nippon Ishin no Kai (Japan Innovation Party), which made a strong showing in the election, will receive 105 million yen more than initially planned. The subsidies are provided to each party in April, July, and October based on the initially determined amount, and the difference is provided in December. The revised subsidies provided to the political parties were as follows (Numbers are rounded down to the nearest million yen):
