U.S., Japan hold joint memorial ceremony at Pearl Harbor

NHK, TBS, and Fuji TV reported at noon that the United States and Japan hosted a joint ceremony at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii to honor the victims of the Japanese attack there 80 years ago. NHK said about 60 people, including officials of the Consulate General of Japan and the U.S. military, as well as Japanese-American residents of the state, attended the ceremony on Thursday. The networks said Consul General Aoki reportedly expressed hope that Pearl Harbor will be remembered as a symbol of reconciliation and friendship.
