Four men affiliated with U.S. military arrested for DUI

The Okinawa Prefectural Police separately arrested on the spot four men affiliated with the U.S. military between Dec. 12 and 13 on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Act (driving under the influence of alcohol). All four men are denying the charge by saying they thought the alcohol had left their systems. Alcohol above the legal limit was detected on their breath.

 

According to the Okinawa Police Station, a U.S. Air Force senior airman affiliated with Kadena Air Base is suspected of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol at around 12:35 a.m. on Dec. 12 on a municipal road in the Chatan district of Chatan Town.

 

According to the Naha Police Station, a U.S. Marine Corps sergeant affiliated with Futenma Air Station is suspected of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol at around 6:40 a.m. on Dec. 12 on a municipal road in the Maejima district of Naha and a U.S. Marine Corps sergeant affiliated with Camp Hansen is suspected of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol at around 11:20 a.m. on Dec. 12 on a municipal road in the Kumoji district of Naha.

 

A civilian employee of the U.S. Marine Corps is suspected of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol at around 2 a.m. on Dec. 13 on National Road 330 in the Asato district of Naha.
