Osaka Chamber of Commerce taps Torii as next chairperson

On Dec. 15, the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) announced that it has informally decided to appoint Torii Shingo (68), vice chairman of Suntory Holdings, to succeed Ozaki Hiroshi (senior advisor at Osaka Gas Co.; 71) as OCCI chairperson. The appointment will be officially decided at the March 2022 OCCI general assembly of its regular members. Torii has been an OCCI vice chair since 2014. This is the second person from Suntory to become the head of OCCI since Saji Keizo, who served in 1985–92.
