Japan’s Foreign Ministry names Economic Bureau’s new director general

TOKYO – The Japanese Foreign Ministry on Friday named Keiichi Ono, director general of global issues, as its new director general of the Economic Affairs Bureau.

 

In appointments effective on Jan. 11, the ministry also named Toshihide Ando, a former minister at the Japanese Embassy in India, as its new director general of the Consular Affairs Bureau, and Hikariko Ono, director general of the Economic Affairs Bureau, as its new press secretary.

 

Mikio Mori, director general of the Consular Affairs Bureau, will serve as consul general in New York.
