Tuesday’s Nikkei reported that the GOJ will open a large-scale COVID-19 vaccination center operated by the SDF in Tokyo’s Chiyoda Ward on Jan. 31 in order to accelerate the rollout of booster shots. The paper said the Moderna vaccine will be administered at the center to those aged 18 or older who have received coupons for the third shot.

In a related story, the paper reported that the Health Ministry announced on Monday it will enable workplaces and universities to begin administering booster shots from late February instead of early March as originally planned. The paper said the ministry will begin distributing the Moderna vaccine to those venues on Feb. 21 at the earliest.
