ArkEdge Space, which operates an artificial satellite business, raised 1.67 billion yen through a third-party allocation of newly issued shares to engage in research. ArkEdge plans to develop a satellite able to communicate optically with Earth while orbiting the moon and aims to launch the satellite in FY2025.
The funds raised will also be used to develop satellites and antennas for marine observation. ArkEdge launches about three or four satellites annually, and it aims to launch 35 satellites per year by FY2026 and 100 satellites after FY2026. (Abridged)
