NHK reported on its noon news program that Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan Korsunsky held a news conference at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan this morning. The network said that the envoy expressed a strong sense of crisis about the possibility of Russia continuing to prosecute the present war for sometime in the future, quoting him as saying that Ukraine may need to assume a worst-case scenario because Russia appears unlikely to end its attacks at this stage. Ambassador Korsunsky reportedly added that Ukraine has no plan to surrender and will fight back. He called on the international community, including Japan, to act in concert in imposing sanctions on Moscow by reportedly saying that it is absolutely unacceptable that a single individual created this crisis for no reason and the crisis must be brought to an end.
