Mainichi wrote that Diet deliberations on a bill to approve the new Special Measures Agreement that will increase Japan’s share of the cost of hosting U.S. forces in the country for five years from fiscal 2022 began at a plenary session of the Lower House on Tuesday. The paper wrote that the GOJ is hoping that the bill will be approved by the end of March when the existing agreement expires.
