Yomiuri reported that the USTR released on Tuesday its annual report setting forth President Biden’s trade priorities. The USG document highlighted the administration’s Indo-Pacific Economic Framework, upon which Washington will pursue clean energy and promote digital trade in close coordination with regional allies and friends. “The framework is central to the Biden Administration’s economic strategy in the Indo-Pacific and complements our national security goals in the region,” the USTR report said. It also described China as a large, non-market economy which distorts the marketplace through unfair, anticompetitive practices and harms American workers and businesses.
