Nikkei wrote that Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno told reporters on Tuesday that eight Ukrainian evacuees have arrived in Japan. Matsuno said the GOJ will deal with Ukrainian evacuees from a humanitarian standpoint by taking into consideration their personal situations and the situation in their country.

Kyodo News filed a similar report, saying that the eight individuals are Ukrainian nationals who have relatives or acquaintances in Japan and were granted short-term residency status for 90 days, according to the Immigration Services Agency of Japan. All the evacuees had reportedly arrived in Japan by Tuesday after fleeing from Ukraine to Poland and other neighboring countries.
