At a March 22 press conference, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hayashi Yoshimasa announced that Japan will hold a ministerial meeting of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) online on March 26-27. “We will present a path to African development looking ahead past the post-COVID 19 era,” he noted. At the ministerial session, participants will affirm their coordination toward the eighth TICAD, which will be held on Aug. 27-28. Prime Minister Kishida Fumio plans to attend.
