In response to DPRK’s firing of an ICBM-class missile on March 24, the government will consider imposing additional sanctions on North Korea as well as expanding the current asset-freezing measure.

At a press conference held on March 25, Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno Hirokazu noted that “we will consider measures, including the imposition of additional sanctions.” Minister of Foreign Affairs Hayashi Yoshimasa noted that “we will coordinate with the United States and South Korea on measures including additional sanctions.” (Abridged)
