Justice Minister Furukawa to visit Poland to study needs of Ukrainian evacuees

NHK reported that Justice Minister Furukawa disclosed today that Prime Minister Kishida plans to send him to Poland as his special envoy tasked with laying the groundwork for accepting evacuees from Ukraine. Furukawa told reporters that he is making arrangements to depart on April 1 on a government plane and hold talks with senior Polish government officials there to discuss ways to support Ukrainian evacuees. The justice minister added that the government is also considering allowing evacuees who wish to come to Japan to board the government plane on its return flight.
