Three U.S. service members arrested for DUI

The Naha police arrested on the spot a 37-year-old U.S. Marine Corps. first sergeant affiliated with Camp Kinser on April 3 on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Act (driving under the influence of alcohol) for driving a standard-sized vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. On the same day, the police station also arrested two other U.S, service members on the spot for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

 

The Camp Kinser sergeant was arrested at around 5:40 a.m. on April 3. He is suspected of driving a car on Route No. 58 in Urasoe City’s Nakanishi district under the influence of alcohol.

 

As for the other two, a 24-year-old Marine corporal affiliated with Camp Courtney is suspected of driving under the influence on a city road in Naha City’s Maki district around 2:50 a.m., and a 21-year-old chief petty officer affiliated with Kadena Air Base is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol on Route 58 in Naha City’s Ameku district.
